Overview
Phoenix Contact Radioline Family of Series — Wireless I/O Extension Module:
Radioline is the wireless system for extended systems. Special features include extremely easy assignment of inputs and outputs by simply turning the thumbwheel – without any programming. Thanks to Trusted Wireless 2.0 technology, Radioline is the ideal choice for reliable use in industrial environments. The Wireless-MUX can be installed very quickly: simply connect, switch on, and you have a working wireless path. The system transmits 16 digital and 2 analog signals bidirectionally. This means that it can therefore replace a 40-wire signal cable.
Trusted Wireless I/O is an impressive solution for secure I/O communication even in environments subject to high levels of interference. Specifically developed for harsh conditions, this technology offers numerous properties to ensure your network communication. ***The 900 MHz wireless modules are approved exclusively for the US market.

I/O - data mode:
Radioline enables easy I/O signal distribution throughout the network and the creation of various network structures (as delivered). I/O mapping simplifies signal distribution significantly in large systems.
Assign inputs and outputs quickly by simply turning the thumbwheel. In this way you can distribute and multiply I/O signals freely in your network using I/O extension modules – without the need for any programming.
Serial - data mode:
Radioline can be used to network multiple controllers or serial I/O devices quickly and easily using wireless technology. In this way, serial RS-232/RS-485 cables can be replaced.
One Device – A Wide Range of Applications:
Wireless Multiplexer: Distribute I/O signals in an RS-485 network with up to 99 Radioline stations over existing 2-wire cables. I/O mapping simplifies signal distribution significantly in large systems. Assign inputs and outputs quickly by simply turning the thumbwheel. In this way you can distribute and multiply I/O signals freely in your network using I/O extension modules – without the need for any programming.
Intermedia Communication: A Radioline wireless system on an existing master can be expanded to include new RS-485 stations. The wireless and RS-485 modules form a combined system with up to 99 Radioline stations. I/O mapping significantly simplifies intermedia signal distribution in large systems. Assign inputs and outputs quickly by simply turning the thumbwheel. In this way you can distribute and multiply I/O signals freely in your network using I/O extension modules, without the need for any programming.
Intermedia Communication: Operates on any Modbus/RTU master. Modularly expandable with up to 32 I/O modules per RS-485 station.
Alternative Transmission Media: To increase the range, you can of course replace the RS-485 line with alternative transmission media. A wide range of converters is available for fiber-optic cables, SHDSL, wireless, and Ethernet technology.
